The installation procedure has been further improved so that
more configurations should now be detected automatically.
The encoding support of preview-latex has been refined so
that the run buffer will now yield readable output again in
most situations where it can be reasonably expected to do
so.

This version finally gets rid of all 8-bit coding issues, and supports UTF-8 and other multi-byte input. All known GhostScript versions should work for PostScript and PDF in SAFER mode. Redesigned icons now come in several sizes, blending better with the text. Installation has been made more flexible and robust, more conservative in its choices, and the Lisp startup file will now be installed automatically. It is strongly recommended that you remove a previous installation before installing this version to avoid keeping conflicting or unnecessary files.

0.8.1

Several partly longstanding bugs were discovered after the release of 0.8. It has been deleted. A bug in menu handling rendered menus unusable in most Emacs variants. Format dumping did not work on many platforms due to a far-spread regexp bug only recently corrected. The XEmacs RPM used an incorrect directory.

0.8

This release adds support for rendering via PDFTeX/GhostScript, rendering via dvipng, and pasting of previewed passages in mail. It adds a context menu, updates format support to work with current TeXlive constellations, tunes performance, and adds support for pdftex (including the tightpage option) to the style package.

0.7.8

This release has gained a few more commands, its menu has been reorganized, the 'fleqn' document class option from LaTeX is fully supported, 'preview.sty' has gained a much more powerful interface for configuring previews, and a few more items are previewed by default or more correctly. Various bugs have been fixed and the installation process does a better job of getting things to work particularly for Windows users, with better documentation too. Whitespace changes will not invalidate previews as they did before. This means that outline-minor-mode is usable in XEmacs now.
