Project Description

The LAPP stack includes Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL (instead of MySQL), PHP, Python, and Perl.
TurnKey LAPP is a server appliance that just works, with no configuration required. It gets you up and running with LAPP Web stack in minutes on a virtual machine, bare metal or in the cloud. It's designed to be easy to use and easy to maintain. Security patches are automatically installed. It provides a Web management interface, configuration console, and AJAX Web shell. To minimize its footprint, the appliance is built from the ground up with the minimum required components. It runs everywhere thanks to multiple build formats, including an installable live CD, a VMDK with OVF support, and an Amazon EC2 AMI. It's a part of the TurnKey Linux Virtual Appliance Library.

Includes phpPgAdmin, Perl, and Python support in addition to PHP. Rebuilt on top of TurnKey Core, the new common base for all software appliances, which is assembled from Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS packages. A bugfix in the daily auto-updates mechanism. Significant usability and security enhancements: confconsole support for systems with multiple NICs, password-free login in demo mode, SSL support, database password setting during installation, no passwords in demo mode, many generically useful Webmin modules, and improved embedded documentation. There are many other changes.
