Project Description

SiteBar is a multi-user, multi-group bookmark server that lets users view, add, import, and maintain bookmarks from anywhere. It offers enterprise-quality access rights and granular permissions. Corporations can use it as a complete intranet bookmark solution, and end-users can use it to access their bookmark collection from anywhere, and share it with friends. It is intended for use in a browser's sidebar, and offers a clean, easy to use interface.

This release adds support for binary favicons, changes the logic for emptying a full favicon cache, improves autodetection for supported import formats, and has a workaround for a Firefox bug. It fixes a problem when reading translator-exported zip files, the installer/uninstaller for the MS IE sidebar, an error when deleting inactive users, a451 error with qmail servers, importing from Opera, and the display when using "Waiting for Visit" mode.

This release allows sorting the root folder order, usage-based sorting, and custom folder sorting. Favicon display has been sped up through the use of favicon cache. Favicon, charset, and page title discovery is automated.Folder hiding/un-hiding has been added for temporary hiding of rarely used folders. There is an extension for Mozilla Firefox with toolbar icons, context menu items, and an "Open All Links in Tabs" feature. The ability to write plugins was added. A sample plugin "Mail Gate" can be downloaded separately.
