F-Spot is a personal photo management application for the GNOME desktop. It simplifies digital photography by providing intuitive tools to help you share, touch-up, find, and organize your images. These tools include editing, color adjustments, tags, Photo CD creation, and exporting for upload.

This is the first development release towards 0.8, within the new versioning scheme. The goal is make the code more stable and hackable, in order to solve long-standing issues such as performance and memory usage. Notable changes are: faster and less memory-hungry importation, reparenting and detaching support, replacement of gphoto2-sharp with gvfs for increased stability, fixed Facebook support, modernized unit tests, a new build system, functional duplicate detection, mouse selection in the icon view, panning support using the middle mouse button, and UI improvements. Over 100 bugs were fixed.
