Project Description

OTRS is a platform independent Web-based help desk system that supports service organization of any kind (e.g. IT service, customer and technical product service, complaint management, public services, etc.) to increase their efficiency. It increases transparency as well as service quality and lowers your total cost of ownership. It has been certified ITIL V3 compatible by PinkVERIFY for incident, problem, change, service asset and configuration, request fulfillment, and knowledge management. Other ITIL processes like service catalog and service level management are supported as well.

Performance was increased by adding a cache mechanism. The Oracle driver was fixed for XML alter table actions. The unlock time is reset if an external message is sent. Mail::Tools was updated to 1.75. The crypt option in AgentTicketCompose mask requires a key in the key ring to show pull down options. Bugs were fixed regarding DB2 SQL, encoding Umlauts, downloading links in SysConfig, the bounce feature in SysConfig, the postmaster filter for OracleDB, and other issues.

New features in this release include stable support for Microsoft SQL Server, a multi-calendar and time zone feature, a new statistics framework, optimized synchronization of authorizations from LDAP directory services, PDF output support, a new knowledge database/FAQ module, tracking features for sub-orders, and personal watchlists. Performance gains of an average of 10% were achieved.

RFC quoting for email has been fixed. The Oracle backend is improved. HTML access keys for the customer panel has been added. GPG 1.4.1 is now handled correctly, problems with German "umlaut" and "," in the realname of OE and other small bugs have been fixed. Possible security SQL injections and cross-site-scripting vulnerabilities are fixed now.

Small Oracle database driver bugs and not sending attachments of bin/mkStats.pl have been fixed. A new Chinese translation was added. Some performance improvements are fixed. The old scripts/restore.sh and scripts/backup.sh have been replaced with improved scripts/backup.pl and scripts/restore.pl scripts. Many other small bugfixes were made.

A bug in the merge feature and the attachment
problem with UTF-8 mode have been fixed. The FAQ
attachment problem with the PostgreSQL backend,
the broken download of public PGP keys, the
ignorance of priority exhibited by GenericAgent
(GUI based), and many other bugs have been fixed.
