Project Description

NOC Project is an Operation Support System (OSS) for telecom companies, service providers, and enterprise Network Operation Centers (NOC). Areas covered by NOC include fault management, performance management, service activation/provisioning, knowledge base, multi-VRF address space management (IPAM), multi-vendor configuration management, DNS provisioning, peering management, RPSL and BGP filter generation, and reporting.

This release introduces a completely rewritten Address Space Management (IPAM) application with full IPv6 support. The service activation API was improved for better readability and reliability. The Vyatta, FreeBSD, and 3Com SuperStack platforms are now supported. Additional documentation and screencasts were added to the Web site.

Pluggable authentication backends allow you to use a standard database, delegate authentication to the upstream HTTP server, use an LDAP server, or script your own authentication process.

VLAN provisioning is introduced with this release. It creates/deletes VLANs on switches when they are created/deleted in the database. An IPv4 address range allows you to mark parts of the blocks. Service activation scripts have new capabilities, including device configuration modification, SNMP GETNEXT support, and an embedded HTTP server.
